Education and Training Standards
Following a consultation process that commenced in August 2005 it is anticipated that Council will publish the new Educational and Training Standards before the end of the year. This publication will replace the NACC 1995 Standards which are currently in use.
Revised PCR Hard Copy
The second edition of the hard copy Patient Care Report is currently being developed. This revised edition will incorporate recommendations from practitioners and services who are currently using the first edition.
ePCR Trial
PHECC have just concluded a trial of an electronic PCR in the former Midland Health Board area. For the first time the ePCR communicated live data to the receiving A&E. It is anticipated that following an evaluation of the trial results PHECC will finalise an operational model capable of deployment.
New CPGs
The development of new CPGs has commenced. These are required to enable paramedics to incorporate additional skills and to administer more medications and also to update the current CPR Guidelines to acmmmodate the new ILCOR recommendations. It is expected that the CPGs for Salbutamol and Laryngeal Mask Airway/Laryngeal Tube will be approved in October. Training modules are also being developed to support the roll out of both
Salbutamol and LMA/LT.
