Practitioner Field Guide - Feedback
A copy of the first PHECC Practitioner Field Guide has recently been sent to all registered practitioners. The Guide is designed for you, the EMS practitioner and has a limited life span. This first edition will be out of date on 30th Sept this year and will be replaced by the 2nd edition which will come into effect on 1 Oct 2011.

CFR Smart Phone App
Throughout the country there are many trained Cardiac First Response (CFR) responders who are largely under utilised. Members of voluntary organisations, community responder groups and trained individuals are restricted in their scope to contribute to the EMS service-provision nationally due to lack of coordination and accessibility.

CFR Instructor Notice
All CFR instructors will be required to complete an update session prior to teaching CFR courses that incorporate the practice changes of ILCOR 2010. Evidence of successful completion of this and any subsequent update will be required when an instructor is being assessed for re-certification.

Qualifications Assessors Panel
PHECC, as the competent authority, is obliged both by statute and EU Directive to facilitate and process applications from individuals seeking to have their professional qualifications obtained overseas, recognised in Ireland. Successful applicants are awarded an NQEMT qualification and permitted to apply to join the PHECC register.

The Paramedic up-skilling elearning module has been followed by a case-based elearning module for APs. PHECC has commissioned a series of eLearning modules for Advanced Paramedics (AP) that encompass changes in the 3rd edition Clinical Practice Guidelines and to improve access to post graduate education.
