Continuous Professional Competence (CPC)
The on-going work in continuous professional competency (CPC) is continuing at pace. similar to other regulated healthcare professions, and congruent with the code of professional conduct and ethics (section 3.2), all phecc registered practitioners will be required to demonstrate evidence of competence to maintain their status on the register.

CISM Project Receives the ICISF Co-Founders Award
At the recent 11th World Congress on Stress, Trauma and Coping (ICISF), Baltimore, USA, the Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) team, Department of Psychology at NUI Maynooth, was awarded the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF) ‘CoFounders’ Award for Collaborative Outreach in the Field of Crisis Intervention’. This was awarded in recognition of its “outstanding efforts to develop effective programmes to assist front line emergency services personnel throughout Ireland”.

First National Ambulatory Care Report
A new patient report – the Ambulatory Care Report (ACR) – was launched week end of 28th June at a music event at Slane Castle, Co. Meath. 255 reports were completed which captured data of patients who received care for minor injuries and were attended to by a responder or a practitioner.

Kildare First Responders and Citizen CPR
Kildare First responders have their own ambitious version of last year’s award winning PHECC“citizen CPR” campaign.

8th Annual Emergency Services and Friends Charity Cycle
The 8th Annual Emergency Services and Friends Charity Cycle will take place on Saturday July 9th next. A new route has been planned this year and the organisers are hopeful that the torrential rain of the past two years will hold off this year.
