Three new CPGs have been approved by Council, following recommendation of the Medical Advisory Committee, which authorise the introduction of treat and referral for the first time in Ireland.

Centre for Prehospital Research update.
RESUS 2013 took place on Saturday April 27th in Limerick Race Course and was attended by almost 400 delegates. Research presentations in resuscitation science, emergency medicine and prehospital care at RESUS 2013 were facilitated by CPR. Following abstract adjudication a total of eight oral presentations and four posters were accepted for presentation on the day. The Scientific Assembly was chaired by Dr. Niamh Cummins and prizes were judged by international guest speakers Professor Bryan McNally and Dr. John McCarthy.

CISM Network Ireland and the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health Healthcare Conference 2013
CISM Network Ireland and the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Healthcare will host a conference entitled."Occupational Health and Safety: A Psychosocial Perspective" on 11th June in the John Hume Building, North Campus, NUI Maynooth. This will be a novel collaboration between the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health and CISM Network Ireland.

DFB Pipe Band and NAS Pipes and Drums join forces
The Dublin Fire Brigade - Pipe Band and the National Ambulance Service - Pipes and Drums played together at two prestigious concerts in the O2 last December. The massed bands supported André Rieu, the internationally acclaimed Dutch violinist, conductor, and composer along with his Johann Strauss Orchestra.

eLearning Academy Re-Launch
A revised and updated elearning academy will be released in August 2013. The new site is has been designed based on suggestions from users and refreshes and updates the look and feel of the existing academy. This change will enhance mobile learning as well as facilitate smart phone and tablet devices for future training. Web casts will be available immediately to smart phone users.

National Transport Medicine Programme (NTMP)
The primary objective of the National Transport Medicine Programme (NTMP) is to establish a comprehensive Retrieval/Transfer system for seriously ill babies, children and adults throughout Ireland. It is about getting the right patient, to the right care, in the right condition, in the right time and involves the timely Retrieval/Transfer of critically ill or severely injured patients by an appropriately trained and skilled team of health professionals.
